Edna Louise (Cassell) Castle, age 82, of Marion, passed away at Heartland Nursing Home, January 21, 2015 when the Lord came to reclaim one of His own.
She loved the Lord, was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a helpful, caring neighbor and friend; known to be very faithful and dedicated to whatever she promised to do. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church.
She was born October 14, 1932 in Inez, Ky.
Proceeded in death by her husband, Francis Castle, January 21, 2001.
Survived by daughter Sharon (Dwight) Mills of Rushville, OH; son James (Denise) Castle of Marion, OH; son Robert (Regina) Castle of Marion, OH; and daughter Dianna (Jerry) Call of Marion, OH; and step-son Frank Castle of Paintsville, Ky. Also survived by nine grandchildren Amanda Mills (Mickey) Cecil, Beth Mills (Tim) Gould, Jenni Mills (Eric) Ramsey), Nathan (Jennifer) Castle, Jessica Castle, Sarah Castle(Wesley) Osborne, Eric Castle, Jarrod (Julie) Call, and Joshua Call; and survived by fifteen great-grandchildren Austin Cecil, Madison Cecil, Jackson Cecil, Lilyana Gould, Daniel Gould, Isaiah Gould, Zachariah Ramsey, Allasandra Ramsey, Landon Castle, Eden Castle, Arielle Castle, Samantha Osborne, Eden Osborne, Haliee Osborne and Alexandra Call.
Survived by brother Vernon (Mary) Cassell and sister Lucille Henson. Also, Sister-in-laws Roberta Castle, Alice Horn, and Sue (Delbert) DeLong, Barb Cassell and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Proceeded in death by her father and mother, Charles and Delia Robinson Cassell and brothers and sisters Curtis Robinson, Eugene Cassell, Clyde Cassell, Claude Cassell, Roy Cassell, Donald Cassell, Ida Mae Jones, Mildred McLemore, Arvie Morgan and Elsie Porter.
She was employed for many years as a nurse at Marion General Hospital and Winchester Place Nursing Home, and worked at Whirlpool Corporation. Louise greatest joys was helping others through her many volunteer ministries. She was a member of Creator’s Guild for many years as well as Marion General Hospice.
In the last few years during her confinement in Heartland Nursing Home, she could be found visiting and helping the other residents. We would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Heartland of Marion for the excellent care they gave to Louise and fostering such a loving and caring environment.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, January 25th at Boyd’s Funeral Home from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and on Monday, January 26th from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Berean Baptist Church, 131 Marion Cardington Rd, Marion, OH with Funeral service to follow. Her son James Castle, Pastor Charles Reed, and Pastor Chris Peria will be officiating. Interment at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marion General Hospice, Heartland Hospice, The Transverse Myelitis Association, or Berean Baptist Church.
The honor of knowing, sharing life with, and loving Louise has been ours, whose lives were blessed by her loving, giving spirit.
