Linda L. Russell, age 72, went to be with the Lord early Friday morning, January 2, 2015, at Marion General Hospital following an extended illness.
On November 14, 1942, Linda was born in Marion, Ohio, the oldest of seven children of the late Robert “Bob” and Phyllis (Tierney) Cudd. A lifelong resident of Marion, she graduated from the Marion Harding High School in the Class of 1960.
For over 20 years, Linda worked as a head cook and in several other capacities at Marion City Schools. She also worked as a home health aide and did day care.
A woman of faith, Linda was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
The self-proclaimed “matriarch” of the family, Linda loved taking care of her beloved family. She also had a huge heart for animals and loved her canine companions.
Full of love and life, Linda will be dearly missed by her three children: Robin (Don) Campbell, Ronald Ferguson, and Robert Ferguson, all three of Marion; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; five siblings: Terry (Pamela) Cudd of Caledonia, John (Elaine Newman) Cudd, Debra (Jack) Smith, Bruce (Lisa) Cudd, all of Marion, and Lori Grant of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Alysha Russell; and a brother, Tommy Cudd.
Her family will greet friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7th, at the Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, 347 W. Center St., Marion. Services honoring her life will be held at a later date.
