Michael F. Thomas, age 62, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
Michael was born on November 4, 1952 in Marion to the late Don and Donna (Rasey) Thomas. He attended Harding High School and graduated in the class of 1971. In the fall of that year, Michael was married to his sweetheart, Jessie Marie Shurtleff in Marion.
Michael worked hard all of his life to provide for his family. He retired from Whirlpool, serving the company loyally for 43 years.
Michael enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed bowling and playing chess. Michael was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Above all, Michael was a devoted and committed family man.
He is survived by his loving wife Jessie M. Thomas; his children: Zabrina (Stephen) Gaffney, Daniel Eugene (Tamara) Thomas, Teresa Ann Thomas and Michael W. (Jennifer Lynn) Thomas; 19 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and sisters Pat and Janet.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2PM with Capt. Lawrence Shurtleff officiating; burial will be in the Fish Cemetery.
