Edward “Ed” Allan Reely, 71, of Delaware

Edward “Ed” Allan Reely, 71, of Delaware passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon February 4, 2015 at his residence.

He was born March 27, 1943 in Ashley, Ohio to the late Ralph J. and Inez Eileen (Rollins) Reely.

Ed was a lifetime Delaware County resident who enjoyed all aspects of farming and dedicated his entire life to the family farming operation, which will soon be recognized as a Century farm. He also enjoyed collecting antique tractors and key chains. When Ed wasn’t farming, he drove school bus for Buckeye Valley Schools retiring after more than 17 years of service.

Ed was a member of the Ashley United Methodist Church and served on the County Committee for the Farm Service Agency. Ed’s greatest love, other than working the ground, was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass music.

Ed will be dearly missed by his wife of 51 years Shirley (Rouse); daughters Cassie E. (Keith) Holewinski and Lisa Kaye Reely of Delaware; son Edward R. (Jeni) Reely of Ashley; 3 grandchildren Edward Dale Reely, Austin James Reely and Brian Edward Holewinski; brother John Reely of Angola, Indiana; sister Joan (George) Patterson of Ashley; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday February 8th from 2 – 6 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware and where funeral services will be held on Monday February 9th at 11:00 am with Rev. Erin Porter and Rev. Mark Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Ashley Union Cemetery.
