Evelyn Mae Lewis age 89 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Monday February 16, 2015 at her residence. She was born July 16, 1925 in Marion to the late George J. and Gladys E. (Dominy) Isett.
On December 14, 1946 in Marion she married Charles E. Lewis and he preceded her in death in January of 2013.
Evelyn was active throughout her adult life in many organizations. She was involved with the US Open Drum and Bugle Corp, a member of the 11 Meter CB Radio Club, Slow Spokes Antique Car Club, I00F-Rebeccas, I00F-Theo Roe Girls, Girl Scouts, Bowling Leagues, and PHC (Protective Home Circle).
Evelyn was retired as mail room manager after 22 years with the Marion Star.
Surviving Evelyn are two daughters; Etta Mae Thacker of Marion, Ohio, and Carolyn Sue Maxwell of Prospect, Ohio. Five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren also survive. A sister-in-law, Maxine Isett and numerous nieces and nephews survive as well.
Besides her parents and her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Michael Culp, a sister, and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be on Friday February 20, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Keith Irey. Burial will follow in the Chapel Heights Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday February 19, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M.
