Julie “Jean” Bentley, 71, of Morral

Julie “Jean” BentleyJulie “Jean” Bentley, age 71, of Morral, died unexpectedly Friday morning, January 30, 2015, at Marion General Hospital following a brief illness.

On October 9, 1943, Jean was born in Wheelersburg, Kentucky, the oldest of twelve children of Sola (Lemaster) Meade of Morral and the late Rev. Jim Richard Meade.

A loving homemaker, Jean lived to take care of and raise her children and grandchildren. She also loved cooking for her beloved family and friends, and she made sure no one ever left her house hungry. As a family, they moved from Lucasville, Ohio, to Morral in 1980.

Having a heart of gold, Jean was always there for you when you needed her. She would help anyone in need, even someone on the streets, she would bring them in for food and shelter.

A woman of faith, Jean was formerly a member of the Gebhardt Church, where her father officiated.

Jean will be dearly missed by her four children: John (Gretchen) Wolford of Cardington, Don (Joy) Wolford of Morral, Tom (Deloris) Wolford of Marion, and Veronica (Carl) Patton of Lucasville; 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; nine brothers and two sisters: Willis (Norma) Meade, Delano (Dianne) Meade, Harry (Jackie) Meade, Wanda Stowe, Gary (Shirley) Meade, Cathy (Charlie) McCoy, Larry (Judy) Meade, Rick (Karen) Meade, LeRoy Meade, Sammie (Jennifer) Meade, and Marty (Misty) Meade; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Including her father, Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Helbert Wolford in 1974; her second husband, Alfred Bentley in 2009; a daughter, Sabrina Bentley; and a grand daughter Julie Ann Patton.

Her family will greet friends from Noon – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3rd, at the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, 130 Orton St., Marion. Services honoring her life will be held there at 2 p.m., with Pastor Paul Tyree officiating. Burial will follow in Little Sandusky Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with unexpected expenses.
