Lawrence John “Bud” Brown, age 81, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Marion General Hospital.
Bud was born on January 29, 1934 in Marion, the son of Lawrence R. and Eva R. (Berry) Brown. Bud worked as a machinist at the National Can Corporation and retired from there with nearly 30 years of service.
Bud proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving tours overseas.
He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara (Whaley) Brown; his daughter Karla and Chuck Persinger; grandson of Christopher Lawrence and Maggie Breeding; Sister Gloria and Tom Jones; 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Betty Blocksom and Norma Cole.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Home, 347 West Center St., Marion from 10AM to 11AM; Graveside services will immediately follow at Marion Cemetery with military honors and Charlene Baughman officiating.
