William H. Travis, 86, of Marion and formerly of Ashley, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 1:16 p.m. in the Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
He was born in Marion, Ohio on November 30, 1928 to the late Howard W. and Mary E. (Sandbower) Travis.
William married the former Juanita M. Kuntz on December 24, 1949 in Marion, Ohio and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2006 in Columbus, Ohio.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served in the U.S.Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill was employed with Local 1241 in Columbus, Ohio as a mill-wright doing commercial construction.
He is survived by a nephew, Robert “Bud” Travis of Marion, OH.; nieces, Kathy (Jim Seckel) Camburn of Marion, OH. and Tina (Hector) Hernandez of Las Vegas, NV.; brother-in-laws, James W. (Maryann) Espy of Marion, OH. and John Kuntz of Galion, OH.; Sister-in-laws, Jane Fischer of Worthington, OH., JoAnn (Jack) Joy of Bedford, TX., and Betty Travis of Marion, OH.; along with many additional loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Travis.
A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Ralph Velazco on Friday, February 20, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. No calling hours will be observed.
