Clyde Hayes age 91 of Marblehead/Lakeside, Ohio passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at The Dewolfe Place in Marion, Ohio.
He was born in Pine Top, KY., to the late Lovel and Elizabeth (Williams) Hayes.
On January 9, 1954 he married Freda Fay (Caudill) she preceded him in death on August 25, 1975. On February 9, 1984 he married Marjorie (Chevalier) she also preceded him in death in 2001.
Clyde was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII as a medical aidman, stationed with 217th General Hospital in Paris, France. He was employed and retired from Armco Steel after 30 years of service. In his retirement he lived in a mobile home park in Marblehead/Lakeside, Ohio until his illness in 2014.
He is survived by his daughters, Nina (Charles) Moore of Demascus, OH., Linda (Dan) Downs of Larue, OH., Brenda (Guy) Schertzer of Delaware, OH., Annette (Jeff) Sherman of Marion, OH., daughter in law, Sandy Hayes of Upper Sandusky, OH., 10 grandchildren, 1 step grandson, 11 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, his brother, Don (Patsy) Hayes of Marion, OH., his sister, Ida Leslie of Emma, KY. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded in death by his son, Clyde Hayes Jr. and his two sisters, Thelma Hindman and Irene Mitchell.
Visitation for Clyde will be Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 12 – 2 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Ogden officiating. Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by Marion County Veterans Council.
