Gaynell Geraldine Caldwell, age 91, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 3:46 p.m. in the Marion General Hospital.
She was born in Jackson County, Ohio on September 9, 1923 to Earl and Minnie (Gieke) Chaney.
Gaynell married the late Arnold Cleveland Caldwell in Jackson Co. on June 6, 1942 and he preceded her in death on September 20, 1996 in Marion.
She was a member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ. Gaynell worked as a meat processor for 11 years at Freezer Queen in Nevada, Ohio until her retirement in 1969.
Surviving are a son, Marvin (Vickie) Caldwell of Caledonia, OH.; two daughters, Barbara S. (Wilton) Leathem of Galion, OH. and Bonnie J. Canter of Marion, OH.; seven grandchildren, Jack, Anita, Chris, Chad, John, Jill, and Jarrod; 6 great grandchildren, Alexandra, Aidan, Eric, Brooke, Kayle, and Jaxon; and 3 great great grandchildren, Chase, Zarian, and Zakhia.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Denver Chaney.
The funeral service will be held in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Dorcey Hayner will be officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. The burial will be on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Monroe Cemetery in Jackson Co., Ohio.
