Glenna M. Shuster, 80, of Martel

Glenna M. ShusterGlenna M. Shuster, age 80, of Martel, passed away Saturday morning, March 28, 2015, at Signature HealthCARE of Galion.

She was born on February 7, 1935 in Crawford County to the late Raymond H. and Flossie M. (Stoneman) Bilger.

For 16 years Glenna worked tirelessly as a Nurse’s Aide for Galion Community Hospital.

Glenna had a passion for the great outdoors. She loved tending to her garden which often lead her to canning the vegetables she grew, fishing, and mowing. Glenna also loved to cook and spend time with her family. Most of all she loved her time spent with her grandkids.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Roy L. Shuster, whom she married on December 29, 1952; daughters: Connie Rhodes of Caledonia, Peggy Mermann of Bucyrus, and Reba Jenkins of Caledonia; grandchildren: Danielle Hoffman, Mindy Byrd, Roy Rhodes, Jackie Rhodes, Josh Jenkins, and Heather Obenour; 8 great grandchildren; brothers: Jerry (Judy) Bilger of Marion, Delbert Bilger of Dunkirk, Norman (Helen) Bilger of Edison, Dale Bilger of Tiffin, Larry (Becky) Bilger of Caledonia, Dennis (Pauline) Bilger of Caledonia; sisters: Ruth Bilger of Cardington and Joyce (Bud) Dempster of Marion; and a special lifelong friend, June Landis.

Glenna was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Junior, Herb, and David Bigler; and sisters: Mary McCurdy and Catherine Lyons.

Her family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, from 11 to 12 PM, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services celebrating her life will begin at 12 PM with Pastor Chris Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and may be sent to the care of the funeral home.
