Lloyd W. Hardgrove, JrLloyd W. Hardgrove, Jr., age 81, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday evening, February 25, 2015 at the Sterling House in Marion.

Lloyd was born in Minerva, OH, on March 9, 1933, the son of Lloyd W. and Nellie (Griffith) Hardgrove, Sr. He graduated from Salem High School in the class of 1951. Lloyd worked for Ohio Edison Company as the Line Foreman for 42 years.

On August 30, 1952, Lloyd was united in marriage to Reba M. Mercer in North Georgetown, Ohio. Together they shared 47 years of marriage.

Lloyd enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with his family. They enjoyed camping and were known as the “Night Owls”. For several years, they wintered in Zephyrhills, Florida. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and belonged to a Euchre club.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Marion #70 F & AM; Past Master of the Marion Chapter #62; Past High Priest of the Marion Council @22 R & SM; Marion Commandry #36; Marion Shrine Club; Lydia Chapter #83 OES; First Presbyterian Church of Marion.

Lloyd is survived by his children: Tom Hardgrove of Warren, Jeanne (Charles) Black of Marion, Joyce Schuler of Wisconsin, Tim (Mary) Hardgrove of Morral, and Todd (Karen) Hardgrove of Cambridge; 11 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and one on the way; brother Lee “Cork” (Donna) Hardgrove; and sister-in-law Gaylene (Vince) Butch.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Reba M. Hardgrove; grandson Bradley Schuler; son-in-law Mark Schuler; daughter-in-law Debbie Hardgrove; brother Jack Hardgrove and sister Jean Denkhaus.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM with Masonic services at 7PM; Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Monday at 10:30AM with Dr. Thomas Mori officiating; Burial will be in Caledonia Cemetery.
