Mary K. Borders, age 70, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at 8:35 p.m. at her residence.
She was born on December 6, 1944 in Marion, Ohio to the late Arthur and Ruth (Dains) Simpkins.
Mary was a 1963 graduate of Harding High School and a long time member of White Oaks Road Freewill Baptist Church.
She married Cecil D. Borders on November 22, 1973 and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2011 in Marion, OH.
The lifelong homemaker worked for a short time for the Swan Rubber Co. in Bucyrus, OH.
Surviving are a son, Vincent Neil (Dutches) Beckel of Marion, OH.,two step daughters, Pat (Lee) Hall of Caledonia and Janet (David) Charles of Toledo; two sisters, Betty (Robert) Knaul and Virginia Simpkins both of Marion, OH.; a half brother, James (Tonya) Simpkins of Portsmouth, OH.; a half sister, Cathy Estep of Marion, OH.; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, Justin Beckel and a brother, Arthur Simpkins.
The funeral service will be held in the White Oaks Road Freewill Baptist Church on Monday, March 2, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Caledonia Cemetery. Rev. Grover Caudill and Rev. Danny Dickerson will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
