Richard Eugene “Dick” Baldinger, 83, of Marion

Richard Eugene “Dick” Baldinger, age 83, of Marion, died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Presidential Center in Marion, OH. On May 4, 1931.

Dick was born in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late G. Richard and Ada Blanche (Price) Baldinger.

Dick graduated from Martel High School and then farmed. He was drafted into the US Navy where served his country from November 1955 until August 1957. After being Honorably Discharged, Dick worked at Whirlpool of Marion for over 33 years.

Dick married Patricia A. Pfeiffer on June 28, 1958 in St. Mary Church by Father Hudechek; she survives.

Dick and wife Patricia were advisors of the Marion 4-H, members of The Marion Senior Center where they took several trips together and were active with St. Vincent de Paul and St. Mary Church. He enjoyed tractor and car shows and would show his ’59 Chevy Impala. Dick also enjoyed camping and belonged to the National RV’ers Association, The Marion Swamp Foxes, Green Camp Senior Citizens and Marion County Retired Teachers Association.

Dick loved his family and enjoyed helping his son, Rick, on the farm until his Parkinsons prevented him from helping.

Dick is survived by wife, Patricia; sons, Rick (Sharon) Baldinger and Roger (Jenny) Baldinger; grandchildren, Andrea (Dustin) Bayles, Erin (Steve) Wipprecht, Rebecca Baldinger and step-grandchildren Travis Schwaderer and Danielle (Pete) Lux; and great-grandchild, Alice Lux.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 4 until 8 PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church 10 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2015 with Father Thomas Buffer presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery where Military Honors will be held by the Marion County United Veterans Council.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dick’s honor to St. Vincent de Paul, St. Mary Church or Heartland Hospice Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, a division of Snyder Funeral Homes, is honored to have been chosen to service the Baldinger Family.
