Beverly G. Deaton, age 85 of Marion peacefully passed away April 9, 2015.
Bev was born Feb. 3, 1930 in Medina, OH the daughter of the late Dr. Marion & Yvonne (McNeal) Garver. She attended Bowling Green State University where she met D. Elliot Deaton and they were married Aug. 18, 1949. Bev later attended The Ohio State University where she pursued and received her degree in Education. Bev was employed as an English teacher with Marion Catholic High School and Marion Harding High School retiring in 1992 after 23 years of dedicated teaching. Bev made a positive impact on each of the students that came into her classroom.
She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Marion Lions Club and the Marion Retired Teachers Association.
Bev is survived by her loving husband of 65 years D. Elliot of Marion; a son Robert E. (Kathleen) of Denver CO; 2 daughters Barbara D. (Craig) Belton of Corolla, NC and Ann D. (Craig) Blake of Chagrin Falls, OH; 9 grandchildren Trevor, Justin, Taylor, Lauren, Anna, Grant, Brendan, Carli, Brian and a great grandson Elliot.
Bev was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda and a sister Shirley.
Memorial services will be conducted Wed. April 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hoffman officiating. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of the service. Private inurnment service at Marion Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Bev’s memory, may be made to Marion General Hospice.
