Darrel L. Pierce age 83 of Marion, Ohio went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
He was born December 31, 1931 in Marion, Ohio to the late Thomas L. and Vena M. (Griffin) Pierce.
Darrel graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1949, then on September 26, 1950 he married Patricia A. (Brake) Pierce, they celebrated 64 years of love and marriage together.
Darrel was employed at Erie, Erie/Lakawanna and Conrail Railroad for 42 years as an electrician. He was a member of Richland Road Church of Christ, and enjoyed bowling and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Pierce of Marion, OH., his children, Kerry (Maggie) Pierce of Harper Woods, MI., Karen (Jimi) Simmers of Marion, OH., Dana Pierce of Marion, OH., a brother, Charles Pierce of Columbus, OH. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three brothers, Sheridan, Carlos and Byron, and two sisters, Eileen Crum and Lucille McElroy.
The family of Darrel would like to express a special Thank You to all his Hospice caregivers.
Visitation for Darrel will be held Sunday, April 5, 2015 from 4 – 7 PM and Monday, April 6, 2015 from 1 – 2 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, April 6, 2015 @ 2PM at the funeral home with Russell Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
