Mary Lucy Dowdy, age 75, of Marion, passed away late Saturday afternoon at her home. She was born on June 22, 1939 to the late Jesse and Darlene (Nelson) Blevins.
Mary was retired from J’Lenco where she had worked for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her son; Edward Earl Dowdy Jr., her brothers; Carl, Vernard, James, Jesse, Glenn, Bobby, Billy, Gary and Donnie Blevins, her sisters; Opal Rasey, Evangeline Thompson, Phyllis Blevins and Virginia Blevins and great-granddaughters; Gracelynn Malone and Adisynn Malone.
Mary is survived by her husband; Edward Earl Dowdy Sr., her 4 daughters; Pamela Sue (Vernon) Conners, Carolyn Louise (Kenneth) Mackie, Mary Lou (John) Malone and Opal Bautisa (Jose Granados), her son; Michael Allen (Juanita) Dowdy, her sister; Barbara Butcher, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM. Services honoring her life will be held Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home with Gary Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the Agosta Cemetery.
