Oma Evelyn Chappell age 87 of Prospect, Ohio, passed away on Saturday april 18, 2015 at the Kingston of Marion.
She was born June 26, 1927 in Prospect to the late Miles and Gertrude Hughes.
On June 27, 1948 in Prospect, Ohio she married Paul V. Chappell and he survives her.
Oma was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church. She also was a longtime volunteer at the former MedCenter Hospital in Marion and in 1999 she received the MedCenter Hospital in Search of Excellence Award. Oma was a den mother for many years through the boy scouts. She also most of her life was a very talented seamstress. Last but not least, she dearly loved and cared for her family.
Besides her husband Paul, she leaves behind three sons; Chris (Sue) Chappell of Michigan, David (Kim) Chappell of Columbus, Ohio, and Brian (Cathy) Chappell of S. Carolina, as well as seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents , she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Allen, one sister and five brothers.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday April 22, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Chapel Heights Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 12 to 1 P.M.
