Roger Alan Dyer, age 66, of New Bloomington passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at 6:32 p.m. in the Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, Ohio.
He was born in Kenton, Ohio on February 27, 1949 to the late Darrell and Twyla (Whydam) Dyer.
Roger graduated from Ridgemont High School, Kenton, Ohio in 1969.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post 584 and V.F.W. Post 3313.
On November 13, 1971 in Akron, Ohio, Roger married the former Darlene Beacham and she survives in New Bloomington.
He enjoyed all types of hobbies and was a member for many years of the Marion Airfoils. Roger was an avid fisherman and boater, always in search of the allusive walleye.
He was employed for 43 years as a maintenance technician with the Whirlpool Corporation retiring in 2012.
Surviving along with his wife; Darlene are a son; Brian (Christina) Dyer of Marion, OH., a daughter; Jessica Dyer of New York City, N.Y., two sisters; Christine Dyer and Rebecca (Ron) Flesher both of San Antonio, TX., and a grandson; Skyler.
Roger was preceded in death by two brothers; Norman & Lee Dyer.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Thursday, April 30, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. Pastor Dan Kiger will conduct the funeral service on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in the LaRue Cemetery.
