Avenell “Abbie” Lake age 75 of Marion, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at her residence.
She was born October 2, 1939 in Ironton, Ohio to the late Calvin C. and Ida F. (Malone) Collins.
On December 15, 1993 she married James H. Lake. Abbie was a member of White Oaks Road Freewill Baptist Church, she was employed at Eastlawn Manor for 27 years, Kingston Residence for 10 years and was known as “The Cook.”
She is survived by her husband, James H. Lake of Marion, her children, Marvin D. (Donna) Tiller Jr. of Marion, Penny L. Leighty of Marion, Malinda “Mindy” (Charles) Frost of Marion, Jeffrey A. (Meggan) Tiller Sr. of Marion, 12 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, her sister, Lela F. (Earl) White of Groveport, OH., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, James E. Collins and Harold J. Collins.
Visitation for Abbie will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 5 – 8 PM and Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 12 – 1 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 14, 2015 @ 1 PM with Pastors Danny Dickerson and Marvin Tiller Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
