Dwight E. Williams, age 96, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 3:12 AM in the Brookdale of Marion.
He was born in Union County, Ohio on February 8, 1919 to Norman G. and Blanche (Dean) Williams.
Dwight married the former Bernice M. Shirk in Raymond, Ohio on March 23, 1940 and she preceded him in death on September 1, 2012 in Marion.
He was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church where he was very active and served as past treasurer. Dwight was also a member of the Marion Senior Center. He was employed as a maintenance engineer with the Whirlpool Corporation for 26 years before his retirement in 1981. He moved to Marion in 1946 from Union County.
Surviving are a son; Lee E. “Ed” (Nikki) Williams of Meeker, OH., seven grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Preceding him in death along with his parents and wife were a daughter; Joan E. DeWitt, three brothers, and one sister.
Calling hours will be held in the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Monday, May 18, 2015, from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM. Rev. Ralph Velazco will officiate and burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
