Gladys P. Spurlock, age 76 of Prospect, OH, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Marion General Hospital.
Gladys was born on May 12, 1939 in Greenup, KY to the late Neal and Nanny (Anderson) Skaggs.
On October 26, 1957, she married John C. Spurlock, and he survives.
She was of the Baptist faith, and she was a nurse’s aide at Eastlawn Nursing Home for 12 years.
Gladys was preceded in death by four brothers; James, Paul, Carl and Elmer, as well as four sisters; Louise, Wilma, Betty, and Loreen. Besides her husband, John, she is survived by her sons, Edward D. (Penny) Spurlock of Prospect, OH, and Eric D. (Tina) Spurlock of Green Camp, OH, eight grandchildren; Christina, Joshua, Angelina, Alexis, Ariel, Caleb, Aaliyah, and Amara, her brothers Hershell (Phyllis) Skaggs and Ralph (Betty) Skaggs of Kentucky, a sister, Josaphine Howard of Kentucky, 43 nephews, and 33 nieces.
Funeral services for Gladys will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 1:00PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Stewart officiating the service. Interment will immediately follow at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5-8 PM.
