Lawson Tackett age 87 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Thursday April 30, 2015 at the Marion General Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1927 in Hartley, Ky. to the late Eli and Hilza (McCown) Tackett.
On July 27, 1964 in Clintwood, Va. he married Lucille Burke and she survives.
Lawson was retired from construction and loved working with wood. He also loved to be outside every chance he could. He was an avid walker, and just loved being an out doors person.
Besides his wife, he leaves behind a daughter and a son; Teena (Jim) Philo of Marion, Ohio, Gregory K. (Linda) Tackett of Marion, Ohio, and two grandsons; Lawson Dale Tackett and Matthew A. Powell. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother; Nova (Tom) Bostic and Delilah Akers, both of Pikeville, Ky., and Eli Vernon Tackett of Stanford, Ky., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents , he was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday May 6, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Family of Love Old Regular Baptist Church, St. Rt. 231, Nevada, Ohio. Officiating the service will be Rev. Buddy Carty. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday May 5, 2015 from 5 to 9 P.M.
