Mary M. Payette age 94 of Marion, passed away on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at the Kingston Residence of Marion.
Mary was born in Marion on July 27, 1920, the daughter of Roy H. and Margaret (Fowler) Waddell, Sr.
On September 16, 1942 Mary was united in marriage to William E. Payette.
Bill was the Comptroller of Fulfillment Corporation in Marion from many years. Mary worked part time at the Marion Star for several years.
After retiring from the Star, she was a volunteer at the Community Nursing Home nearly 20 years. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #584 and the VFW Post 7201. Mary was a member of the Crosswood United Methodist Church.
Mary is survived by her children: Sandy Payette, a Methodist pastor in Belle Valley, OH and Mike Payette, a retired railroad attorney who lives in Chicago, IL; her nephew James P. (Diana) Waddell; great nephews: Robert Waddell and Timothy (Dawn) Waddell; Great great nephew and niece: Trent and Abbie Waddell and her cousin Richard (Marge) Grigsby of Marion.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband William “Bill” Payette; brother Roy H. Waddell, Jr. and sister Marjory J. Corwin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 3, 2015 at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 10AM to 11AM; Funeral services will immediately follow at 11AM with Pastor Joe Ziraldo officiating; Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery.
