Ralph Emerson White age 79 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Saturday May 9, 2015 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born July 20, 1935 in Hanging Rock, Ohio to the late Earl and Helen (Stewart) White.
On January 6, 1955 in Arlington, Va., he married Mary E. Christian and she survives him.
Ralph was retired from the former Marion Power Shovel Company after twenty-seven years of service. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
Ralph was an out doors person. Camping was a passion for him and he loved to salmon fish. He also loved to do yard work, anything outside was what he truly liked. He was a member of American Legion Post #584 and the Moose Lodge #889. He was a good husband and father and grandfather and was more like a father to the grandchildren than a grandfather.
Besides his wife of sixty years , he leaves behind three daughters; Crystal F. (David) Winck of Marion, Ohio, Terry L. (Danny) Pettersen of Bacliff, Texas, Bonnie Dunaway of Marion, Ohio, and a son, Kevin A. (Debra) White of Marion, Ohio. Twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren survive, as well as a sister, Janice (Carl) Mitchell of Marion, Ohio and two brothers; Joseph (Sue) White of Richwood, Ohio and Fred (Lela) White of Groveport, Ohio. Also, numerous nieces and nephews survive.
Besides his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Jean Grimes and a brother, James White.
Funeral Services will be on Friday May 15, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Good Faith Baptist Church, 706 E. Mark St. in Marion. Officiating the service will be Rev. Barkley Slone. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday May 14, 2015 from 6 to 8 P.M.
