Richard L. “Dick” Mawer, 81, of Marion

Richard L. “Dick” MawerRichard L. “Dick” Mawer age 81 of Marion, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at his residence.

He was born August 12, 1933 in Marion County, Ohio to the late Edward and Marjorie Ada (Cheney) Mawer.

On April 5, 1958 he married Virginia Lee (Hopkins) Mawer, she preceded him in death on October 12, 1997. Then on March 26, 1999 he married Jeanetta (Behner) Korody-Mawer.

Dick was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where he was very active with the quilters, he was formerly employed at Whirlpool Corporation for 35 years. But his real love was farming which he did for many years and Farmall Tractors.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanetta Mawer of Marion, his children, Joe Allen (Dodi) Mawer of Marion, Diana (Tom) Ray of Marion, Terry (Andy) Joseph of Marion, Edward “Eddie”(Heather) Mawer of Marion, grandchildren, Jayson (Lori) Mawer, Aaron Mawer, Tyler Joseph, Andrew Joseph, Ashley Ray, Braden Mawer, Brody Mawer, great granddaughter, Hayley Mawer, his brother, Dale Mawer, step grandchildren, Alex Merchant, Zach Merchant, Anja Merchant, step-children, Jerry (Kellene) Krody of Spichard, MO., Cathy Sherman of Marion, OH., Margie (Tracy) Landon of Cardington, OH., Lonnie (Steff) Korody of Carey, OH., and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marjorie Mawer, his wife, Virginia Mawer and his three sisters, Ruth Baker, Iva Cayton and Irene Miller.

Visitation for Dick will held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 4 – 7 PM at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 241 S. Prospect St. Marion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 13, 2015 @ 10:30 AM at Emanuel Lutheran Church with AIM Kevin Kehn officiating. Burial will follow at Meeker Cemetery.
