Harold W. Short age 74 of Marion, Ohio passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at his residence.
He was born June 26, 1940 to the late John J. Short and Virginia (Williams) Short Howison.
On September 26, 1959 he married Gloria J. (Briner) Short, they shared 55 years together.
Harold was employed at the Marion City Jail for several years, he retired in 1999.
He loved going to Las Vegas for the past 20 years twice a year to play the slots and enjoyed going fishing. For the past four years since he got ill, his highlight of his week was having dinner with his favorite grandson- Johnathan every Sunday.
Harold is survived by his wife, Gloria Short of Marion, OH., his daughter, Kim Short of Worthington, OH., his son, Scott Short of Marion, OH., four grandsons, Johnathan, David, Dillion and Tyler Short, one great grandchild, a step-grandson, Matthew Veley, his mother-in-law, Erma Briner of Marion, OH., his pride and joy, Hobo his cat and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Short Jr. and Bill Short. The family would like to thank Brenda, Penny, John and Christine of Kindred Hospice of Marion and his caregiver, Jerry Brown for their loving care.
Per Harold wishes no services will be held, the Boyd-Born Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
