Sargent Color Guard Turner, age 51, of Marion, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 3, 2015, at home following a brief illness.
On August 19, 1963, Sarge was born in Marion, Ohio, the eighth of ten children of the late Curtiss and Florence (Schuler) Turner. He graduated from Elgin High School.
A jack of all trades, Sarge learned from his father to be a carpenter and construction worker. He also drove truck for many years.
The life of the party, everyone always had a good time whenever Sarge was around. He was outgoing, fun loving, and had the biggest heart, though he could also be a bit bull headed too.
He will be dearly missed by his children: Ralph (Heather Middleton) Shinn, Spc. Trinity Turner, Candace Turner, Kristy Turner and Lyvionne “Lizard Lips” Hook; three grandchildren: Alexis Middleton, Maximus “Doodle Bug” Jones, and Savannah “Nae Nae” Marks; his companion of 5 years, Dawn Seitter; her children: Kaycie, Emilee, and Autumn Landon, and Angelena Heater; four siblings: Ralph Turner, Cathy Haycox, Paula Foreman, and Frank (Misty) Turner; a sister-in-law, Karlene Turner; his former wife and friend, Candy Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings: Maria Myers, Delores Turner, Clarence Turner, Ernest Turner and Erma Walke.
His family will greet friends from 2 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 7th, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services honoring his life will also be held there at 2 p.m. on Monday, with Tom Beckell and Wendell Walke officiating. Burial will follow in Green Camp Cemetery.
Rather than flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with unexpected expenses.
