Mary C. RussellSister Mary C. Russell born June 11, 1940 to the late Richard and Mary Latherns of Mt. Vernon, OH, went to be with the Lord at Heartland Nursing Rehabilitation Center, Marion, Ohio on June 13, 2015.

Born into a family of 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Only 1 brother surviving who is Jim Latherns of Trotwood, OH.

In 1958 she married Richard L. Russell. They were blessed with 3 children. Daughter Rosalind Jones (Donald) of Marion, Oh, Richard W. Russell (Marlene) of Oklahoma City, Ok and Joanna Prah of Indianapolis, IN.

Also the joy of her life were her grandchildren. Brandon Russell of Indianapolis, IN., Vincent Hall of Dublin, OH, Chani Faber (Ryan) of Dallas, TX., Trevor Jones of Marion, OH and Katrina Jones of Marion, OH. She also has 1 great grandson Preston Faber of Dallas, TX.

She was loved by several nieces and nephews spread throughout the country. She enjoyed childhood swimming in the Kokosing River in Mt. Vernon.

At the age of 10 on Christmas Eve, 1950 she gave her heart to the Lord. Growing up she entered school plays and talent shows where she acted and sang. She spent endless hours following and doing Christ’s work. Her knowledge of the Bible and the ability to sing, she ministered to all she could. She appeared on TV39, doing prayer line and sharing the gospel in song. Her faith was apparent to all that would meet her. She brought her singing ministry to several Marion area churches. She was a member of 3 different churches before ended up at Word of Life Church, during her last few years of her life. She was in choir and sang in many cantatas, Sunday School and prayer meetings.She was a strong prayer warrior.

Visiting hours will be Thursday June 18, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. at Centerpoint Church, 2303 Marion Mt. Gilead Rd., Marion, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at Centerpoint Church on Friday June 19, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Mark Mauldin officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Dinner at Centerpoint Church to follow.
