Joseph Lewis DawsonJoseph Lewis Dawson, age 78, of Marion, died Monday, July 20, 2015 at Select Medical Center, Victorian Village, in Columbus, Ohio.

Joe was born September 20, 1936 in Marion, Ohio to the late Emmitt and Violet Dawson.

On September 5, 1970, Joseph married Pamela Dickinson who survives.

Joe graduated from Marion Harding High School and attended Firefighting School.  Joe was a cofounder of Thor-Ran Ambulance Service and later retired from The Marion Township Fire Department.  After retirement, he co-owned and operated Sway’s Trophy House.

Joe enjoyed golfing and was a member of The Moose in Kenton and The American Legion in Marion.  He loved his fat cat Bubba and most of all harassing everyone he met.

Joe is survived by his wife, Pamela; son, Clyde (Brenda) Dawson of Marion; daughter, Connie Sue (Michael) Workman of Marion; grandchildren, Amy Porter, Jeffery Lowe, and Paul J. Dawson; and nephew, Randy Dawson.  He is predeceased by siblings Jim and Dorothy.

Per Joe’s request no funeral services will be observed.  Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, a division of Snyder Funeral Homes, is honored to serve the Dawson Family.
