Judith Brown Schmidt, 75, of Marion, Ohio, passed away at her home on June 26, 2015.
She was born on February 26, 1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio and is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Beatrice Brown.
Judy graduated from Marion Harding High School, attended Bowling Green University for undergraduate studies and received her Masters in Library Science from Case Western Reserve University.
Judy is survived by her sister Patricia (Victor) Birdsall, son Jacob (Sherri) and beloved grandchildren Bryce, Maxwell and Macy. She is also remembered fondly and missed by a multitude of friends.
Judy retired from the Marion Public Library after 41 years of service and was well known for her role as the children’s librarian. She was also an active member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and spent much of her time helping others and volunteering in the Marion community.
Friends may call on Monday July 6, 2015 at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, 122 West Columbia St., Marion, Ohio 43302. from 6 to 8 P.M. There will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Epworth United Methodist Church, 249 East Center St., Marion, Ohio 43302. Officiating the service will be Rev. David Hoffman. A private family graveside burial will take place at a later date in the Marion Cemetery.
