Marjorie J. Seitter Banks, 80, of Marion

Marjorie J. Seitter BanksMarjorie J. Seitter Banks of Marion, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday July 23, 2015 at the age of 80.

Marjorie was born near Westfield in Delaware County on March 8, 1935. She was one of 4 children born to the late Arthur “Guy” and Emma Marie (Reichardt) Edwards. She attended Waldo High School and graduated in the Class of 1953. At 40 years of age, Marjorie enrolled in Nursing School through Marion General Hospital where she received her degree as LPN.

When she was in high school, Marjorie worked at the General Telephone Company. After high school she went to work at the Marion Manor in the physical therapy division. In 1975 she started working with Dr. Merritt Marshall and did so for nearly 10 years until she went to work at the Juvenile Detention Center. Marjorie also spent time with the Marion Area Counseling Center and most recently working for Dr. Mark Piacentini for over 15 years.

Marjorie was united in marriage to Donald Seitter on April 25, 1954. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1986. On May 25, 1990 Marjorie was united in marriage to Bob Banks at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prospect. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2014.

Marjorie was a true blessing to everyone. Her generous spirit and heart touched the lives of everyone she met. Her family was her life and she cherished every moment, especially the ones shared with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a Christian woman and had a passion for serving others. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prospect. She held many leadership positions at the church, volunteered at the food pantry for many years and served as a leader at Hope’s Door which helps with drug recovery.

Marjorie will also be remembered for her fondness of the Dallas Cowboys; she was an avid fan that loved to cheer them on.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Linda (Dennis) Ratliff of Prospect, Jeff (Linda) Seitter of Dayton, Michael (Karen) Banks of Canton and Kathy (Jerry) Mullins of Prospect; grandchildren: Kyle (Kendra) Ratliff, Kevin (Kelsie) Ratliff, Mark (Lily) Seitter, Kim Seitter, Amy (Bob) Hillard, Kaiti (Shane) Glazier, Amber Beard and Staci (Kyle) Iden; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister Judy (Don) Mount of Marion and several nieces and nephews.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband Donald Seitter, husband Bob Banks and her siblings: Ruth (Bill) Axline and Kenneth (Mona) Edwards.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion from 3:30PM to 7PM. Services celebrating her life will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 200 E. Water St., Prospect, OH 43342, with Pastor Brock Klobe officiating. Burial will follow in Waldo Cemetery.
