Nancy Lou Belcher of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 30, 2015 at the Kobacker House in Columbus after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born on May 13, 1946 to Hazel Mae (Orians) and Beryl Channing Belcher in Marion, Ohio. She is a 1964 graduate of Marion Harding High School.
Nancy married Denton Ruth on February 4, 1968, and was employed at J.C. Penney’s as a Merchandising Assistant and also sold Mary Kay products. She was involved with Marion Community Theatre, PTA, and the Eleven Meter Club for many years.
Survivors include two daughters; Aimee Jo (Lane) Warner and Laura Beth (Craig) Carey, grandchildren; Hudson Warner, Courtney Grier Warner, Hannah Elizabeth Loya, and Wingate Carey all of Marion. She is also survived by a sister; MaryAnn (Ralph David) Johnson of Sycamore, IL., nieces; Rhonda (Steve Clark) Johnson of Los Angeles, CA., Renee (David) Barton of LaPorte, IN., nephew; Channing Lewis (Jennifer) Johnson of Glen Ellyn, IL., great niece; Isabelle Grace Barton and great nephew; Will Pembroke. Nancy leaves behind several cousins, along with loving caregivers in Columbus; Mark Hardy, Barbara Steckel, and Nancy Beckwith.
She was predeceased by parents; Hazel and Beryl Channing Belcher, grandparents; Laura and John Orians, Emma (Belcher) and Harry Lewis, ex-husband; Denton Ruth, and in-laws; Don and Bette Ruth.
Visitation will be at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Sunday, August 2, 2015, from 3 – 6 PM with services at the Prospect Street United Methodist Church on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev.Therese Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
