Ruth E. Fabian, age 92, of Marion, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Marion Manor.
Ruth was born December 6, 1922 in Marion, Ohio to the late John Michael and Helen Arthelda (Murphy) Kreitzer.
Ruth married John H. “Jack” Fabian who preceded her in death on April 7, 2000.
Ruth and her husband owned and operated Fabian Grocery Store, on the corner of Silver and Leader Streets, and The Campbell Street Party Store.
Ruth was a member of St. Mary Church, where she enjoyed singing in their memorial choir, Marion Senior Center, a Charter Member of The Marion County Historical Society, and a lifelong member of The Marion Union Station Association. Ruth was very proud that she attended the opening night of the Palace Theater where later in life she enjoyed volunteering. Ruth also enjoyed visiting with the Eye to Eye support group.
Ruth loved her family and they were always her priority.
Ruth will be missed by three children, Rick Fabian of Marion, Stephen (Kathy) Fabian of Sterrett, AL, and Teresa Reynolds of La Rue and two grandchildren, Kara Reynolds and Kelly (Emmett) Phelan.
Ruth was predeceased by brothers, George and John Kreitzer and sister, Mary Martha Kreitzer.
Friends may call at Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home from 4 until 7 PM on Thursday, September 3, 2015. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Thomas Buffer at 10AM on Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
