John “Jack” Gerald Galbraith, 78, of Marion

John “Jack” Gerald GalbraithJohn “Jack” Gerald Galbraith, age 78 of Marion, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Jack was born on September 6, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Robert and Florence Louise (Cornyn) Galbraith.

Jack proudly served his county in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On June 13, 1959 Jack was united in marriage to Connie May Borghi; together they have shared 56 years of marriage.

He is retired from Whirlpool with 37 years of service. He worked in the maintenance division and also served in the P.E.O.

Jack was a man who believed in hard work. He worked several jobs in order to provide for his family’s every need. He was a self taught man that enjoyed working on cars, building computers and developing software, built model cars and trains and had a fondness for his dogs. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Marion, a past member of the Eagles and a member of St. Mary Church. Above all, Jack adored and cherished his family, especially time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Connie May Galbraith; his children: Marian Louise (Darrell) Foster of Marion, Marcia Ann (Tim) Albright of Morral, William Vincent (Ayda) Galbraith of Florida, David Wayne (Linda) Galbraith of Marion and Michael Thomas Galbraith of Upper Sandusky; grandchildren: Patrick, Ryan, Aaron, Nicole, Alicia, David, Molly, Zathor, Chichinia; 7 great grandchildren; siblings: Paul, Mark, David and Marilyn.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; a son John Gerald Galbraith, Jr., a grandson Derrick and a brother Bob.

Services for Jack will be held privately by his family on Thursday.
