David Rea Kennedy, 69, of Marion

David Rea Kennedy passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 8, 2015. Dave was born June 25, 1946 in Marion Ohio.

He was a graduate from Ridgedale Local Schools and attended  Muskingum College.

After college Dave married the love of his life and they recently celebrated 45  years of marriage.

He dedicated 36 years to a job he loved at Whirlpool Corporation and cherished the opportunity’s it provided for him and his family. He retired from Whirlpool at age 54 and continued to work at the plant as a contracted employee for another 10 years.

Dave was a member of Cornerstone Alliance Church, had a heart for missions, and traveled to several  countries sharing his testimony of salvation. “He was a giver in a world of takers”. Some of his fondest  memories were shared with his small group bible study.

His love was unending as he idealized his wife, kids, and grandchildren. Every sport every season  through snow, wind, rain and sunshine he was always supporting his grandkids on the sidelines. His  pride, passion and protective nature was unmeasurable when it came to his family. Our lives will never  be the same without him, but he left a memorable legacy.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Ruth Ann Kennedy, father and Mother in Law  Robert and Janet Hutchins of Bellevue, and a Brother in Law David Hutchins.

He is survived by his wife Cindy (Hutchins) Kennedy, two children Rick Kennedy and Kim (Steve) Pytlarz,  and two grandchildren Bryce and Zach Pytlarz.  He had two sisters Gloria (Gary) Lewendowski of Florida  and Chris (Steve) Fetter of Marion and a brother Tom (Bev) Kennedy also in Marion along with several  nieces and nephews that were his pride and joy.

Calling hours will be November 12, 2015 from 4‐8pm and a memorial service Friday November 13th at  11am. Both services will be held at Cornerstone Alliance Church located at 2010 Marion‐Marysville Rd.  Marion Ohio.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cornerstone Alliance Church benevolent fund or the Pleasant Athletic Booster / Baseball Scoreboard Fund. Contribution cards will be available during both gatherings.
