Helen Louise Thacker, age 73, of Marion passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 12:25 AM at her residence.
She was born in Galion, Ohio on December 22, 1941 to Everett William and Thelma Marguerite (Mosier) Shonk.
Helen married Roy W. “Peewee” Thacker Sr. in Cardington, Ohio on December 9, 1961 and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1987 in Vinton Co., Ohio. They celebrated 25 years of marriage.
After Peewee’s passing, Helen rejoined the work force as a nurse’s aide providing care and comfort to those in need. Helen enjoyed being with her grandchildren and spoiling them as much as possible. Each of them had a special place in her heart. She enjoyed antiquing, crafts, and OSU football. She built strong friendships at her place of residence, the Chadwick Place.
She was preceded in death by Peewee, two brothers; Harold and Bill Shonk, a sister; RuthAnn (White) Shonk, and three grandchildren; Paige, Faith, & Hope.
Mourning her passing are her children; Tina and Jim Kightlinger, Robin Thacker, & Beth Whitaker, Roy and Eileen Thacker, Terri and Richard Fox, and Angel Thacker Mullins, also grandchildren; Kade Ross, Zach (Brittany) Ross, Mackenzie Kightlinger, Abby (Doug) Humphrey, Miranda & Alex Thacker, Lance Fox, Mercedes (Ryan) Fox, and Quentin Mullins, her great grandchildren; Braxton Humphrey and Cameron Ross, and the Steve Ross Family.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Rev.Ron Goodling will conduct the funeral service at 1:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home with burial to follow in #16 Cemetery near Martel.
