Margaret Mae Moore, age 90 of Marion, passed away on Thursday morning, November 12, 2015 at the Fairhaven Community of Upper Sandusky.
Margaret was born on September 29, 1925 in Marion, the daughter of John H. and Beatrice M. (O’Connell) Belt. She graduated from Harding High School. Margaret worked as a clerk with the Marion Police Department keeping track of all records for many years until her retirement. She also enjoyed part time work at the Kroger grocery store.
On October 26, 1946, Margaret was united in marriage to Gale W. Moore in Marion. Together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2005.
Margaret was an avid reader of religious books. She also enjoyed knitting, crochet, tending to her flower garden and her son’s fish frys. Above all, she loved her family and time spent with family was time cherished.
Margaret is survived by her loving children Cheryl Marie Walpole and Thomas Gale Moore; grandchildren: Colin Michael Moore and Nathaniel Adam Walpole; 5 great grandchildren; siblings: Harold E. Belt, Charles L. Belt, Larry L. Belt and Leona M. VanVoorhis.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gale W. Moore; siblings: Paul R. Belt, Robert W. Belt, Donald Belt and Carl Belt.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home, 347 West Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Marion First Church of the Nazarene, 233 W Church St, Marion at 10:30AM with Pastor Steve deWeber officiating; Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
