Steven R. Blevins, 60, of Prospect

Steven R. Blevins, age 60 of Prospect, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Elmwood Center in Green Springs, Ohio.

Steven was born on June 4, 1955 in Marion, the son of John H. and Mary M. (Schroll) Blevins, Sr. He attended Pleasant High School, graduating in the class of 1973. He received his Associates in Business from Marion Technical College in 1980 and his Bachelors of Arts from Write State University in 1991. Steven operated the Sportsman’s Den for many years.

Steven was an avid hunter and enjoyed the peacefulness of the outdoors. He was a longtime member of Pheasants Forever, the Waldo Sportsman Club and the NRA. He mentored the youth by serving as an instructor of hunting and trapping through the division of Wild Life for over 10 years. Steve was an inspiration to all who knew him and was a great lover of life.

He is survived by his mother Mary M. Blevins; siblings: John H. (Mary) Blevins, Jr., Marsha (Gary) Smith and Larry (Judy) Blevins all of Prospect; many nieces and nephews; his dear friends Steve and Geri Lust and longtime caregiver and friend Grace.

Steven is preceded in death by his father John H. Blevins, Sr. and his sister Linda K. Maynard.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home, 347 West Center St., Marion from 4 to 7PM; Graveside services will be held on Saturday at Prospect Cemetery at 11:30AM.
