Douglas LeRoy Lantz, age 82, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Kindred Healthcare in Marion, Ohio.
Douglas was born on December 22, 1932 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late LeRoy D. Lantz and Mildred E. (Williams) Lantz-Gifford.
Douglas graduated from Caledonia High School in 1951. He continued his education by receiving a Bachelors Degree from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio and received a Masters Degree from Bowling Green University.
Douglas proudly served his country in the Navy Intelligence in Washington, D.C. and North Africa during the years 1952 to 1957. After serving in the Navy, Douglas worked for the United States Air Force as a key-punch supervisor.
He was a member of the Crosswood United Methodist Church of Marion and Lyons Club in Caledonia, Ohio. He was a part of the Junior Achievement in Marion. He retired from GTE as a Capital Budget Manager after 38 years. Douglas enjoyed people, and loved Texas, auctions and antique shows.
Douglas is survived by his wife: Carol L. (Furniss) Lantz; one daughter: Vickie L. (Rod) Robinson of Marion; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons: Jefferey Lynn Lantz and Kevin Lowell Lantz.
Visitation will be held at the Crosswood Methodist Church starting at 10 AM to 11AM on Tuesday December 29, 2015. Funeral service will follow visitation at 11 AM with Pastor Joe Ziraldo officiating.
