Franklin Blaine Conley, Sr., age 71, passed away Friday, December 11th, at 12:16pm at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Franklin was born on July 31, 1944 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late John Bennett Conley and Ida Mae (Penix) Conley. On March 17, 1974 in Marion, Ohio, he married his soulmate and the love of his life, the former Kathy S. Koeppel. She survives in Marion.
A Vietnam War veteran, he served in the US Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post 888, Moose Lodge 889, and DAV (Disabled American Veterans). Prior to becoming disabled, he worked in various fields and was owner of the former Court Grille and Yelnoc, LLC in Marion. He will be truly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Franklin is survived by his wife, Kathy Conley, daughter: Jennifer (Charles) Disbennett of Marion; son: Franklin Blaine Conley, Jr. of Marysville, OH; one sister: Joyce Hesson of Marion; three brothers: Ed (Linda) Conley and Bennett Conley of Marion, Ford Conley of Wellston, OH; a sister-in-law: Bertha Penix of Marion, OH, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Lily.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Candy Conley; and one brother: Charles Penix.
Visitation will be held at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 1:30pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Burial with military service will follow at the Marion Cemetery.
