Robert Glenn Kepford, age 81 of Galion passed away early Friday morning December 18th, 2015 at home.
Bob was born May 21, 1934 in Arion, Iowa as the son of the late Earl & Pauline (Palmer) Kepford.
Bob was a 1952 graduate of Arion High School. He is a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a maintenance man at Whirlpool Corporation in Marion for forty years before retiring April 1, 2000.
Bob always considered himself a farmer and worked at it for over fifty years. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the YMCA in Galion.
To keep with his love of the farm, he was a collector of John Deere memorabilia. He also enjoyed playing cribbage with his family and Euchre at the senior centers in Galion and Ontario. Bob enjoyed making people laugh. He set a goal to make three people smile every day. He loved bad jokes and was never short of one. Above all else he loved his family.
In 1993 he married the former Mary Fetter – Pfeifer and she survives him at home along with his faithful dog Freddie.
Bob is also survived by his children, Lori Kepford of Morral, Michelle Kepford (John Franklin) of Perrysburg, Glenna (Rod) Pickett of Marion, Jennifer (Todd) Schaeffer of Caledonia, Reggie Pfeifer (Brenda) of Mansfield, Rex Pfeifer of San Diego, Loueva Hollister of Fayetteville, NC, and Peggy Long of Ontario, fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his sister Margie Toney of Battleground, WA.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
In keeping with Mr. Kepford’s wishes his body is to be cremated. A memorial service for him will be held on Sunday afternoon January 3rd, 2016 at Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Galion with Pastor Ash Welch officiating. Friends may call at the church on the same day where the family will receive them from 1:00 until the time of service (3:00).
