Donna Ruth Baer, age 85 of Marion, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Kingston Residence of Marion.
Donna was born on October 2, 1930 in Marion, the daughter of Ralph B. and Lucille E. (Kenyon) Bond. She graduated from Harding High School in the Class of 1948. On August 28, 1949, Donna was united in marriage to Eugene L. Baer.
Donna was employed at Henney & Cooper Drugstore, serving as the bookkeeper for many years.
Donna was an active member in the community. She was a lifelong member of Epworth United Methodist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher and member of the Evelyn Kendall Circle. She also served on the Board of Elections for 30 years, was a member of the Red Hat Society, First Families of Marion County and was a 4-H advisor. She also enjoyed work as a seamstress and treasured spending 15 winters in St. Petersburg, Florida.
She is survived by her children: Debbie (Bruce) Humes and David (Lynn) Baer; grandchildren: Misty (Corey) Hill, Brian (Heather) Humes, Matt Baer and Brandon (Carrie) Humes; great grandchildren: Austin Satterfield, Chase Satterfield, Blake Morris, Alanna Morris and Aryonnah Hill; and her brother Allan Bond.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene L. Baer; brother Roger Bond.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Epworth United Methodist Church, 249 E Center St, Marion from 10AM to 11AM; Funeral services will immediately follow at 11AM with Rev. David Hoffman officiating; Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
