Ethel Lee Cochran, age 90 of Marion, OH passed away at 12:20 pm on January 14, 2016 at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Marion, OH.
Ethel was born in Cincinnati, OH on April 5, 1925. On February 14, 1942, Lamarr and Ethel Cochran married in Mitchell, GA and they shared nine children.
Ethel worked as a cook at Whirlpool Corp. and Marion General Hospital. She was a caregiver and cleaning tech for Paul and Ruth Lyons and Dr. A and Eva Chaudry.
Ethel loved bingo, sports, lottery, holidays, and family.
Ethel is survived by two daughters: Shirley Cochran-Kline and Gail Cochran-Blanton; three sons: Raymond Scott, Willie Clarence Owens, and Anthony Cochran (T.C.); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; special grandchildren she helped raise Chris Cochran and Alvin Simpson, Jr. (Herbie); two daughter-in-laws: Ella Cochran and Karen Cochran; and one son-in-law: Danny Bovian.
Ethel is preceded in death by six children: Grady Cochran (Peewee), LaVaughn Cochran, Sr. (Khan), Lloyd Cochran (Bay), Janice Cochran, Clifford Cochran (Tease), and Lamarr Cochran, Jr.; her parents: Will and Lottie Scott; her great grandparents: Russell and Molly; a uncle Will Scott; two brothers: Russell Scott and Ernest Scott (Frick) and one sister: Thelma Cilette Scott; and a special grandchild: Lamarr Q. Cochran (Scotter).
Ethel’s services will be held at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, 122 West Columbia Street of Marion, on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Calling hours from 1pm to 2pm and service starting at 2pm with Rev. Willie McGary performing the service. Dinner for family and friends will be held at Kings Temple Apostolic Church located at 285 Senate Street, Marion, Ohio.
