Myron E. Berry, age 68 of Marion, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital following an extended battle with Parkinson’s disease.
He was born on October 25, 1947 in Marion to the late Lester and Alice (McClaskey) Berry. Myron was a 1967 graduate of Marion Harding High School.
Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy, fighting in the Vietnam War, being stationed in Sasabo, Japan. Myron worked for the Erie/Conrail Railroad as a patrolman.
On June 22, 1968, he married the former Pamela Sharp, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Scott Berry of Knoxville, Tennessee; one daughter Lisa (Matt) Holland of Marion; one granddaughter Addison Berry and 2 grandsons: Garrett Holland and Brandon Holland; one brother Terry (Pat) Berry of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Debbie Belk.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home, 347 West Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11AM with Celebrant Mark Schuring officiating; Burial will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery with military honors being observed.
