Bonnie Marie Parker, age 68 of Marion, finally won a three year battle with cancer on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 surrounded by family.
She was born on August 15, 1947 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky to the late Clarence and Ethel (Yates) Hammonds. On November 11, 1966 in Marion, Ohio, Bonnie married the late Roger D. Parker, who passed on October 23, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters: Della Mae Ross and Pearl Land; and two brothers: Charles Hammonds and Clarence, Hammonds, Jr.
Bonnie is survived by her children, two daughters: Annetta Collins and Tina Lindley both from Marion, Ohio; one son: Greg Griffith of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; five grandchildren: Michael Collins, Jr., Tiffany Anderson, Kristine (Zak) Collins, Nichole Parker and Whittney Griffith; ten great grandchildren; one sister: Ella Hammonds of Ashland, KY; one brother: Clyde (Becky) Hammonds of Ashland, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, 122 West Columbia Street of Marion, OH 43302, on Monday, February 29, 2016 starting at 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Boler Center, 509 Forest Lawn Drive of Marion, Ohio 43302, on Tues, March 1st starting at 12pm with Rev. Nathan R. McBeth officiating. Burial will follow at the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Bonne’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
