Scott H. Main, 40, of Mount Gilead

Scott H. MainScott H. Main, age 40, of Mount Gilead, passed away January 28, 2016, at Marion General Hospital.

He was born on June 30, 1975, in Marion, to Arthur H. and Sandra J. (Dameron) Main. Scott graduated from Mount Gilead High School, in the class of 1993.

Scott was quite a handyman, and spent the past several years as a subcontractor in plumbing.

An avid outdoorsman, Scott enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed the hunting trips to Colorado with his dad and family. Scott also liked to spend time with his family and friends. His pride and joy was his daughter, Keirra. He loved spending time with her and even had the opportunity to coach her in softball.

Scott will be remembered for his charismatic personality, which was often contagious and left people loving to be around him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents: Art and Sandra of Mt. Gilead; daughter, Keirra Main of Mt. Gilead; life friend and mother of his daughter, Kara Foster Maynard of Mt. Gilead; sister, Dawn Main of Marion; nephew, Ericsson Willoughby of Marion; grandmother, Bonnie Dameron; special friends: Lois Weaston and Deidre Reed both of Mt. Gilead; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents: Willey Dameron, and Harold and Ruth Main; and best friend, Brandon Coppock.

Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 PM on February 2, 2016, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel. 67 N. Main St., Mt. Gilead. A service celebrating Scott’s life will be held on February 3, 2016, at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery.
