Anthony Lusenhop, age 31 of Marion, went home on Monday March 28, 2016.
Anthony was born on February 11, 1985 in Marion, the son of Jerry Lusenhop and Lane Lysaght-Lusenhop.
Anthony was a 2004 graduate of River Valley High School and then attended Tri-Rivers where he studied welding and enjoyed his education. Anthony worked in customer service at Speedway and was delighted to serve his loyal customers.
From an early age, Anthony was a lover of the outdoors. As a boy he enjoyed exploring the woods, playing in the creek and collecting all kinds of bugs, insects and snakes. He found solitude of casting a line and waiting for the fish to bite. As an adult, he enjoyed taking nature walks and marveling at the beauty of God’s creation. He had a great fondness for all types of animals, caring for them and especially enjoying his cat Raven.
Anthony was a gentle and kind hearted man that was always honored to serve friends and family. He shared with his father, a love of cinema. It was a family tradition to watch the Christmas Story every Christmas season. He loved to watch the series, Doctor Who and other thrillers alike.
To Anthony, family was cherished above all else. His greatest joy and happiness was realized when he was surrounded by his extremely tight knit family. He shared a close bond with his grandfather Gene and was inseparable from his best friend James Maccagnone. There is no greater comfort than that of his family and his faith in God worshipping at St. Mary Church.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his mother Lane Lysaght; his father and step-mother Jerry and Nancy Lusenhop; his sister Sarah (Jacob) Swogger; grandparents Gene and Connie Lysaght; Uncles: Gerald (Rosa) and Daniel (Joan) Lysaght; his aunt Erin Robbins and several cousins and a host of beloved friends.
Anthony is preceded in death by his grandmother Patricia Ann Lysaght and his great uncle Lewis Wellman.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 251 North Main St., Marion at 1PM with Fr. The family will receive friends at the Knights of Columbus immediately following the cemetery service to celebrate and remember Anthony’s life.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul, where Anthony volunteered, American Red Cross where he was a strong advocate for donating blood and giving back to those in distress or the Knights of Columbus Wake Fund.
