Emmy N. Thacker-Rose, age 35, of Hamlet, N.C. and formerly of Marion, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, March 11, 2016, in Pittsburgh, PA.
She was born on May 16, 1980, in Marion, to Robert Thacker and Mary Martin and graduated from Richmond Senior High.
Emmy loved her family and especially her kids dearly. She was very outgoing and caring. For many years she took care of her grandmother and had a special bond with her brothers and cousins whom she looked out for and helped raise into adults. Family time with her kids included making crafts and taking tons of photos. She was never a fan of sports until her son started playing football and after that Emmy never missed a game.
Emmy loved to dance and listen to music as it warmed her soul. She often was the comedian in the group, loving to make others laugh while also seeing the good in each person’s life. Emmy will be remembered as a beautiful child with a beautiful soul.
Left to cherish her memory include her children: Jaylen, Juzstyec, and Jaizeleygh Brower; mother, Mary Martin; father, Robert Thacker; brothers: Ian Thacker and Jeremiah (Tracy) Martin; cousins: Mark Basford and Kistien Martin; uncles: David (Pam) Martin and Walter (Irene) Martin; aunts: Loucille (John) Stricklin, Brenda Countryman, Pearl (Paul) Trent, Joyce Schofield, and many others; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandma, Joyce Evelyn Martin.
Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM, on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger and Snyder Funeral Home. 360 E. Center St., Marion, OH. Services celebrating her life will be held there on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 2 PM, with Pastor Dale Baker officiating.
