Betty I. Christian, age 66, of Marion passed away on Thursday March 31, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on Monday October 24, 1949 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Orville and Catherine (DeLong) Russell. She was one of four children.
She graduated from Marion Harding High School in the class of 1967. She soon became a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and began collecting anything associated to her beloved team.
Betty married the love of her life, Willard “Woody” Christian on February 2, 1995 and they enjoyed 21 years of marriage. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed every minute of it. Raising three children wasn’t an easy task at times, but Betty loved every minute of it. Her proudest moments were family gatherings where memories were made. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
It wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to see Betty watching a Little League Baseball game at Lincoln Park. Most of the time one of her grandchildren would be playing. She kept a watchful eye on the calls made by the umpire and would be quick to point it out if that call wasn’t what she thought it should have been.
Betty will be dearly missed by her husband Woody Christian; sons Robert McMillen Jr. and Randy McMillen; Daughter Sherry McMillen; sister Linda (Jesse) Arthur; brothers John (Thelma) Russell and Orville (Verna Mae) Russell; 8 grandchildren, a 6 great-grandchildren.
Betty was met at Heaven’s gates by her parents.
